2009 Predictions on Communications and PR
Some of Doug’s 2009 Predictions:
Industry growth will slow as advertising, marketing and PR compete for the same dollars.
There will be opportunities for PR and communications in public policy, earning media online by developing content and placing it with Web reporters, and oddly enough for infomercial producers.
Blogs, online video and social media will continue to grow as powerful marketing tools; but who will create this content and execute these campaigns is up in the air.
Network ad rates will drop in the May upfronts, creating an opportunity for infomercial producers who will be able to reach more people for less.
PRSA will make progress under Mike Cherenson, but will fail to improve the image of PR to the public.
