Some of Amy’s Vlog Views:
“We’re a vegetarian line of food products and we’re both chilled and just recently launched in frozen. We are basically partnering with mom to provide a little vegetable goodness in her kids and family’s life.”

“We have a very tech-savvy consumer so mom is definitely going online, going to blogs, looking at things like WebMD to find out about health and wellness for her family.”

“Of course we’re looking at traditional things like print but we understand we need to be where our consumer is so social media certainly, Facebook and things like Twitter, we’re talking to moms there.”

“Certainly it (video) is important , as we grow we’re starting to use online and dong some cooking classes with media and with media bloggers and then using that content on our website.”

Organic wine in a box that has a smaller carbon footprint then traditional wine: the communications story behind the successful launch of this new, greener planet product. Andy Hicks (he’s got a cool accent too!), Director of Wine Sales and Marketing, spoke with Doug Simon of D S Simon Productions at Editor Showcase: Green Living about CalNaturale’s marketing strategies.

Some of Andy’s Vlog Views:
“Basic concept is, it’s a wine that’s made from organically grown grapes and it’s available in an environmentally friendly package which is called a tetro-pack. It’s got half the carbon footprint of a glass bottle, incredibly light weight, very easy to transport and adds many different uses to wine from a portability perspective.”

“It’s a great environment. There’s been a lot of high quality media here (Editor Showcase: Green Living) and we’ve had a lot of engaged conversations over a glass of wine, which is a great way to do it because obviously I can tell the story but while they’re enjoying the product and can actually taste and touch it.”

How do you get your story or product featured in Women’s Day Specials? At Editor Showcase: Green Living in New York City Doug Simon of D S Simon Productions caught up with Peter Walsh, Home and Garden Editor, about the types of PR and product pitches that will wind up as stories in one of the Women’s Day special publications he edits.

Some of Peter’s VlogViews:

“It’s always about packaging; an editor’s always looking for something. If it doesn’t pop on the page it’s not going to make it into the magazine. For example, products that are packaged and don’t have right colors, they just don’t make it in. They may be great a product but really editors aren’t looking for that kind of thing to put in a magazine.”

“If it’s something that they (the reader) can take away, for example a chart, a graph, some sort of graphics or something we can grab from them (product) to put in the magazine that works perfectly. That sort of thing really gets us going.”
