Interview with Doug Dome, “How to Inspire Creativity”

Interview with Doug Dome, Managing Principle and Chief Creative Officer, Carmichael Lynch Sprong.

Some of Doug Dome’s Vlog Views:

“The fact is that there isn’t a silver bullet solution to the creativity formula. We are trying to get to the root of creativity and it goes back to the fundamental value system of your department, your organization, or your agency.”"The value system within the environment leads to a culture and a culture that fosters and supports and enables organizations and individuals to become more creative.”"The big idea is essentially the solution to that problem in the context of what the thread that you can service is and platform and build around. It’s timely, relevant, on topic with current events and critical mass.”

The folks at Wheatley-Timmons took the interview to task and made a valid point about the context for creativity. Excerpts and a link are below.

Throwing people in a room to brainstorm (typical PR agency creative mash-up) even with solid leadership and focus still misses the point entirely. Unleashing a torrent of relevant and innovative solutions doesn’t begin with tactics. It never has and never will. Clients hire us to drive business results. The input breeds the output. The source of creative spark is in the energy and effort first to study, research, dig, digest and understand the business and brand issues the client is facing.
