Recorded at the Ragan Communications Conference
Some of Steve’s Vlog Views:
“Julie from the love boat…a social director”
“Larry King of the suck ups, those are communicators that just ask the suck up questions.”"Barney Fife is the communicator that asks the difficult questions but only acts tough and backs down to everyone.”"The fourth type is Dr. Phil, who is the biggest son of -“ “bleep” – out there.”"The fifth communicator, the one we all strive to be is…”
During the actual interview, when talking about the Dr. Phil personality, Steve didn’t say “bleep” but used the actual swear word. I prevailed with my tech guy to bleep it out over his opposition. Steve is a brilliant guy who has successfully marketed a “profane” persona. Was I wrong to censor him? Your opinionated, but clean, comments are welcome.

Censorship is fine in this case. The Internet already has enough trash, a little less litter is always a good thing.
Censorship is a delicate issue. I think the “bleep” is as powerful as the word for getting the point across.
I’ll disagree with my old friend Roger Johnson…
It wasn’t censorship, as it was easy to figure out what he said. In fact, you only drew more attention to his characterization of Dr. Phil.
We’re all adults here. No FCC nannies looking over our shoulder. I’d have left the cut unedited.
After all, wasn’t that Steve’s message… “don’t back down”?
